VAG · Advanced diagnostic & programming services

VW, Audi, SEAT and Škoda coding and programming.

The Volkswagen Group shares platforms and many of the same modules across all four badges, so the same equipment and know-how covers a Polo, a Golf GTI, an A3, a Leon or an Octavia.

Audi and VW sit right behind BMW and MINI in our workshop, for servicing and repairs as well as electronics.

About component protection

Some VW Group modules carry component protection, which ties the module to one car and can only be cleared through the manufacturer's online system. When your job needs that, we'll tell you before you commit to it.

Common VW Group jobs

  • Gateway doesn't see a moduleA module was fitted or removed, and the installation list was never updated.
  • Airbag light after repairA seat, module or crash repair left a stored fault or crash data behind.
  • DSG shifting badlyAfter mechatronic or clutch work, the gearbox needs its adaptations run.
  • EPC lightThrottle, pedal or engine management fault that needs proper diagnosis.
  • New battery fittedCars with battery management need the new battery coded.
  • Key not recognisedImmobiliser or key fault, or a key that needs adapting.

Audi and VW, looked after properly

Our own site has always said it: we specialise in Audi, BMW, MINI and VW. The electronics equipment we've added means the VW Group jobs that used to go to the dealer can now stay here.

Owners notice the difference.

“Thank you for the great professional work ,Paul. Will never go anywhere else. The GTI DRIVES LIKE A DREAM .”

Dealer-level work, without the trip to the dealer.

We've invested in professional Abrites Full Protocol and TOPDON Phoenix Max diagnostic and programming technology. It lets us carry out advanced electronic procedures on supported VAG, BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Renault and Nissan vehicles, here in Mountain View.

Abrites Full ProtocolManufacturer-specific diagnostics, module programming, coding and key work across the brands we cover.
TOPDON Phoenix MaxFull-system scans, live data, coding and service procedures across a wide range of makes.

Services are subject to vehicle model, year, control-module type, software version and system compatibility. Phone with the make, model, year and VIN and we'll confirm before you bring the car in.

Questions we get asked

Do you work on SEAT and Škoda as well as VW and Audi?

Yes. They share the same platforms and many of the same modules, so our VAG diagnostics and programming cover all four brands on supported models.

What is a gateway installation list?

The gateway keeps a list of the modules fitted to the car. If a module is added or removed and the list isn't updated, you get communication faults and warning lights. Updating it is a coding job.

Can you code a used module from another VW or Audi?

Often, where supported. Some modules carry component protection, which needs the manufacturer's online system. Phone with the part number first.

Do you service Audi and VW too?

Yes. Servicing, mechanical and electrical repairs on Audi and VW are a core part of the workshop. See the home page.

Another workshop? Send us the programming job.

If you don't have the equipment to finish a coding, programming or key job, we can do that part for you and hand the car back.
